THE LITTLE VINTAGE HALL WORKSHOP
Sunday April 29th 2012
2.00pm - 5.00pm
In this the first of a whole new series of workshops for 2012, we will be building the interior of a hall as a vignette setting, initially with just two MDF walls and a base. (We will be adding an extra room to the side at a later workshop).
Participants will learn how to lay a boarded floor, panel and decorate walls with a slightly aged look using ordinary everyday materials without the need for commercially purchased components. For example, you will be making realistic floorboards simply from cardboard.
Our imaginary hall would have been built in late Victorian times and we join it for this workshop in the 1930s, although the decor will virtually be unchanged since it was built in the late 1800s. You will be shown how to add one or two vintage accessories that will help to build up your realistic scene, such as an old fashioned notice board, corner shelf and coat rack.
This project is yet again set within a nostalgic and vintage style that will be familiar to those who attended the ' Little Old Garden Workshops’....then in later workshops we hope to go on to explore other decades and ultimately create a special function within that hall. This is a lovely opportunity for participants to create an original and individual project and also, with their newly learnt skills be further inspired and encouraged to continue with their own new projects in the future. Ideal for beginners or experienced miniaturists alike.
PHOTOS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN A FEW WEEKS, BUT FROM THE ABOVE DESCRIPTION YOU CAN OBTAIN A FLAVOUR OF WHAT THE PROJECT WILL BE ABOUT.
