THE LITTLE OLD GARDEN SHED WORKSHOP

Sunday March 25th


This all day workshop will take place in the classroom block at Waterperry Gardens. Our workshops are relaxed and informal run by Celia Thomas of KT Miniatures and Robin Britton of Coombe Crafts, both experienced professional artisans who will be ready to share their distinctive skills & various craft methods. You will be making an old fashioned and quirky miniature shed and contents. Think old, rusty, well weathered, oodles of character and vintage!

 

This little old shed won't just be any ordinary shed....oh no siree!


It was probably the old wash house or outhouse almost a century ago....that long fell into ruin. All that’s left of the original building being the back and a side rendered wall, with some bricks clearly visible where rendering has fallen away. Replacement wooden walls added later were built so many years previously that now they too show signs of disrepair. The rusty corrugated iron roof (replacement of a once tiled roof), rickety old door and weather beaten window all just about keep the rain out. Even some of the contents could well have originated from decades ago....
